Regional Medical Center-Bayonet Point: A Significant Community Presence

At Regional Medical Center-Bayonet Point, we believe that it is our privilege and responsibility to truly support our community. Beyond providing outstanding medical care, the staff and volunteers at our hospital work to keep our community healthy and safe.

Support Begins at Home

Our responsibility begins with our patients’ medical care, and we believe that every patient should have access to that care. That’s why we offer education for indigent patients, including on-site benefits education and assistance with Medicaid enrollment.

Our Consult-a-Nurse® program also provides a free resource for any member of the community who needs free health information or physician referral. Available 24 hours a day, the Consult-a-Nurse team allows people to get medical information from their own homes. To complement this service, Regional Medical Center-Bayonet Point also offers a wide variety of classes and support groups each month:

  • Better Breathers Club and Pulmonary Support Group
  • Breast Cancer Support Group
  • Heart2Heart Cardiovascular Support Group
  • Celiac Support Group of West Pasco County
  • Diabetes Support Group
  • Fibromyalgia Support Group
  • Internal Cardiac Defibrillator (ICD) Support Group
  • Look Good, Feel Better
  • NAMI
  • Osteoporosis Support Group
  • Smoking Cessation Classes

Community Activism

Regional Medical Center-Bayonet Point cares for our community with both time and financial resources. Our staff works with schools, colleges, professional organizations, and non-profits to improve educational opportunities, raise awareness, and provide advocacy.

We also participate in the Step up for Students program, along with the other hospitals in the HCA community. The program provides scholarships for K-12 students who have special educational needs. Since 2005, HCA hospitals have raised over $45 million in scholarship funds, and assisted more than 12,000 students.

Emergency Relief and Support

The community relies on Regional Medical Center-Bayonet Point and other HCA hospitals to be leaders in preparation and planning. That’s why we take an active role in supporting the community during hurricanes and other emergent medical conditions. We have a comprehensive hurricane preparedness plan, to ensure that our patients and staff stay safe before, during, and after severe weather.

Meanwhile, we were recognized along with other HCA hospitals for our excellent preparation for flu season. The National Patient Safety Foundation honored our employees for their dedication to health and hygiene during the H1N1 outbreak and the 2009-2010 flu season.
